Man Utd battle Tottenham for £25m Marcelo Brozovic

 

Manchester United could stand in the way of Fabio Paratici and his hopes of signing Marcelo Brozovic for Tottenham.

Spurs are reportedly interested in both Brozovic and Inter Milan teammate Stefan de Vrij.

But reports in Italy (via The Boot Room) claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also keen on the Croatian midfielder, with FC Inter News claiming he could be available for as little as £25million.

The report also states that Barcelona are also sniffing around the 28-year-old, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract and is yet to agree new terms with Inter.

The midfielder made 33 Serie A appearances, playing a vital role in Inter breaking Juventus’ stranglehold to win the title.

It’s thought that Paratici is the man pushing for Brozovic, with his ties to Serie A said to be key to potential Spurs signings this summer.

And at just £25million, Brozovic would represent an excellent bit of business for Tottenham’s new director of football.

But news of United’s interest will be concerning, with the Red Devils looking as though they mean business in the transfer market this summer.

John Murtogh, United’s director of football, has already worked to secure the £73million signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and the club are also said to be deep in talks with Real Madrid over a move for Raphael Varane.

Paratici has also enquired over the availability of Miralem Pjanic as another midfield option.

The Bosnian moved to Barcelona from Juventus last summer but failed to establish himself in the first team under Ronald Koeman.

The midfielder started just six La Liga games in his debut season and Sport (via Sport Witness) claim he is being ‘fast-tracked’ out of the door.

The report states that Pjanic ‘has a huge market’ this summer and would prefer a return to Serie A, with both Inter and AC Milan said to be interested.
