Man Utd goalkeeper ready for the worse against Man City

Andre Onana says Manchester United will be ready for Manchester City in the Premier League clash on Sunday and will ‘make it difficult’ for the champions at the Etihad.

The Manchester derby takes place at 3.30pm on Sunday and unsurprisingly Pep Guardiola’s team is hot favourite to pick up three points.

The last two Premier League meetings at the Etihad have finished 6-3 and 4-1 in Manchester City’s favour, although it was only as recently as 2021 that the Red Devils picked up a league win in the blue half of the city.

Speaking after a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Wednesday night, Onana recognised what a tough task it is to take on the Premier League champions, but insists United will be ready and make it difficult for their hosts.

‘It’s a great feeling, especially the way we won today against a good opponent. Now we’re focused on the coming games,’ Onana said after the fifth round win over Forest.

‘We all know how important the game is for us, for the club and city, so will be ready for them because we’re Manchester United. It’s not going to be easy but we’ll make it difficult for them.

‘I believe in my guys, we’ll fight there and we’ll see what happens. For sure, 100 per cent [I’m ready], we’re ready to play these kinds of games, very nice and exciting game.
