Manchester United are in the front seat to secure Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz in the summer.

La Repubblica suggests that when Fabian enters the final year of his Napoli contract in the summer, he may be sold, so the team avoids losing him on a free transfer.

It is believed that Napoli would look at Sassuolo star Davide Frattesi as a replacement for Ruiz.

United may well turn to the Spain international to shore up their central midfield, especially if they are unable to sign primary target Declan Rice of West Ham United.

Rice is the man United want to anchor their midfield for the coming years, but he is also wanted by Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Red Devils are set to lose midfielder Paul Pogba at the expiration of his contract this summer.
