Man Utd will face competition for £60m-rated Olise

Manchester United are aware that they will face stiff competition in the race to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano’s report comes after ESPN sources confirmed last week that United are considered the frontrunners to sign the France under-21 international should he leave Selhurst Park.

Olise reportedly has release clause in the region of £60 million that will become active this summer, although the Red Devils may even offer former Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka as part of a deal to help boost their transfer budget, as there will be limitations needed to keep them within the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Olise is seen by United new hierarchy as a key target to be signed as part of the summer rebuild at Old Trafford, with the club not being deterred by their inability to offer him Champions League football as they currently sit eighth in the Premier League table.

Even so, talks are not at an advanced stage and the likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be scouting the 22-year-old.
