Man Utd’s Amad informs Erik ten Hag about his ‘dream’ for next season
Amad Diallo has enjoyed a brilliant loan spell at Sunderland and could be part of Man Utd’s first-team picture next season.
Amad’s chances of a shot at the Manchester United first-team have been growing with each week and the 20-year-old has already told Erik ten Hag where he wants to be next season.
A season-long loan at Sunderland has gone as well as anyone would have hoped, with Amad’s 13 goals and two assists helping the Black Cats into the Championship play-offs. His final effort, a wonderful strike against Preston North End on Monday, kicked off the 3-0 win that confirmed a semi-final clash with Luton Town and a potential shot at promotion to the Premier League.
Such has been the 20-year-old’s form this season that United are planning to welcome him back to the first-team picture. MEN Sport understands that Amad has had an FA Cup final suit reserved in his measurements, wanting him to feel involved in the June 3 clash with Manchester City ahead of this summer’s pre-season tour of the United States.

This summer will see all interested parties come together to make a decision on the player’s immediate future, that being a call on whether next season is spent with United or back on loan. As important as anyone else’s opinion will be Amad’s, and the Ivorian has already told Erik ten Hag what he wants to do.
“I know [my signing] was a lot of money, but I didn’t really think about that; there’s no reason to worry about things you can’t influence,” Amad told FourFourTwo in April. “I was so happy to sign for Manchester United: it’s a club with a massive history, famous all around the world.
“I haven’t shown my best for them yet, but I hope next season I can return and prove my talent. My dream is to play regular football at Manchester United.”
The pre-season tour across the pond will provide Amad with the chance to get a feel for his place in the first-team squad, while also allowing Ten Hag to see how the Ivorian would fit into his plans.
