Mba goes spiritual hopeful of return to active football

 

Former Super Eagles ace Sunday Mba may be out of contract, but the former Yeni Malatyaspor of Turkey attacking midfielder is not taking his relationship with God lightly.

The 30 year old who parted ways with the Turkish club in September 2017 has continued to seek ways of returning to the game he loves so much but is doing that with a lot of prayer back up.

In what could pass for speaking out of the abundance of the heart, Mba who netted the winning goal in Super Eagles triumph in the 2013 Nations cup in South Africa took to the social media Tuesday to reveal his total believe in God’s ability to make things happen. “I have gone far with God, no turning back” he enthused.

The former Rangers international ace has been unattached since leaving the Turkish club he joined in 2015 from French side  Cercle Athlétique Bastiais popularly called CA Bastia. He made combined 97 appearances for both clubs with 13 goals to his credit.

Despite being inactive since leaving Turkey, Mba insists his interest remains in football adding that he is working hard on it.

He however admitted that some element of luck is needed to get back in the frame

“My desire is to get back into club football and I am working hard to start playing again. ‪”Football is everything I have and I cannot just give up. I believe there’s something out there for me,” he told BBC Sport.

If there is one thing Mba is however ready to nurture, it is hope that opportunity will come even as he continues to shape up amidst prayers

“As a free agent, things are not really that easy, but you can only be hopeful. First you’d need the luck to find someone that believes in you and ready to give you a chance. I’ve continued to stay in shape, train daily and be physically ready for any opportunity,” he added
