Messi has a shrine dedicated to Muhammad Ali in his home

There are millions of people around the world who consider Lionel Messi to be their idol.

The Barcelona star has reached the pinnacle of his sport and has done it in a way that’s easy to admire.

Messi needed growth hormones as a boy. He was lonely after relocating from his native Argentina to Barcelona at the age of 13.

To overcome those hurdles to become arguably the greatest player in the history of the game is mightily impressive.

But even Messi has heroes and he’s made it very clear who one of them is.

The Argentinian has what looks like a shrine in his home gym dedicated to boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

Recent footage of Messi working out during coronavirus lockdown showed a series of photos of Ali on the wall in the background.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Messi pay homage to Ali, though.

He has a number of t-shirts that bear the late American’s image, even wearing one when he signed a new contract at Barcelona.
