Mesut Ozil blasts Chelsea over Antonio Rudiger exit

Mesut Ozil has hauled pebbles at Chelsea for allowing his former teammate Antonio Rudiger join leave the club for Real Madrid.

The former Arsenal playmaker scored 33 goals in 184 appearances for the Gunners and has several major trophies to his name, including the World Cup.

Taking to social media, the 35-year-old claimed it was a big mistake for the Blues to allow his former international teammate Antonio Rudiger to join Real Madrid.

The Spanish giant is currently at the top of The League after winning Mallorca 1-0 this Wednesday thanks to a goal from Rudiger.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti praised the German international after the match: “He has taken advantage of the injuries of others. He is performing at a very high level, with continuity.

‘He is always ready in duels. He is an insurance that we have behind us. He’s playing to the best of his ability.”

Although Rudiger left Chelsea on a free transfer when his contract expired, the 30-year-old claimed the club were slow to offer him a new contract.

In an article he Wrote for The Players’ Tribune, he said: “Unfortunately, my contract negotiations had already started to unravel last fall.

“Business is business, but when you don’t hear from the club from August to January, the situation gets complicated.

‘After the first offer, there was a long interval of nothing. We’re not robots, you know?

‘You can’t wait months with so much uncertainty about your future.

“Obviously no one saw the sanctions coming, but in the end other big clubs showed interest and I had to make a decision.”
