Mourinho comically goes from smiling to fuming in a split second

The touchline is never a dull place when Jose Mourinho is in attendance and the Portuguese’s latest incredible reaction from the sidelines drew much attention on Sunday as his Tottenham side beat Manchester City.

Raheem Sterling had already been booked for a reckless challenge on Dele Alli – a challenge which itself left Mourinho fuming after he believed the England international was lucky not to see red.

Jose Mourinho gave an incredible reaction after Raheem Sterling allegedly dived

But Mourinho was once again left incensed after the crazy penalty incidents at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, believing that Sterling should have received a second yellow for simulation.

Ilkay Gundogan’s spot kick was saved by Hugo Lloris after Serge Aurier had brought down Sergio Aguero – a decision which came via VAR nearly two minutes after the incident.

But on the rebound from Lloris’ save from Gundogan, Sterling charged towards the ball and went to ground after seemingly colliding with the Frenchman.

VAR reviewed the decision and adjudged that a second penalty should not be awarded which referee Mike Dean followed, but Mourinho was left furious that Sterling had not been sent off for an alleged dive.

After being informed by his assistant that the England international had already been cautioned for his foul on Alli, the Portuguese put down his water bottle and charged towards fourth official Graham Scott.

The official immediately stepped away from his protests, making Mourinho turn his ire on Dean and shouting and gesturing to him that Sterling should not have remained on the field.

The incident mattered little, however, as new signing Steven Bergwijn scored a fantastic opener and Son Heung-min added a second to secure victory for Spurs against Pep Guardiola’s 10-man City following Oleksandr Zinchenko’s red card.

The result moved the North London side up to fifth in the Premier League table after Manchester United and Wolves dropped points in their stalemate at Old Trafford on Saturday.
