Mourinho downplays training ground bust-up with England star
Jose Mourinho has played down his heated exchange with Danny Rose, insisting he has ‘no problem’ with the England defender after they clashed at training.
As reported by Sportsmail, Rose and Mourinho had words after the left back was left out of Saturday’s game against Watford.
The Tottenham boss said he had a ‘good’ relationship with his players and explained that Rose, 29, didn’t feature against either Watford or Middlesbrough because of his form and a back injury.
‘It was not a big problem but even so I decided then to play with Japhet Tanganga and have Ryan on the bench. That’s the situation.’
Rose felt he was fit to feature in the 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road but his manager decided to leave him out.
‘My medical department know that it’s very important for me to know for my next training session if my players are available.

‘They called me to say that if I needed a left back for my training session, it was better to call the academy and bring Dennis Cirkin because Danny Rose was not available to play.’
Mourinho said the defender is fit for Wednesday night’s Premier League game with Norwich at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
