Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is happy his managerial rival Jurgen Klopp has extended his contract with Liverpool .
It was announced on Friday that Klopp’s current deal until 2022 would run until 2024, ending rumours that the Reds boss would take a sabbatical in the near future.
Klopp and Mourinho have done battle a number of times in the past with various teams, and speaking ahead of Tottenham’s game against Wolves on Sunday Mourinho, said the contract extension was good news for the Premier League.
“First of all it means they are happy,” Klopp said. “He’s happy, if not he doesn’t sign. They’re happy, if not they don’t give him a new contract.
“It is great news obviously for Liverpool fans and for the players because it looks clear they like each other & their relationship is very good.

“And it’s good news for the Premier League, we want the best players and coaches and he is one of the best. It is positive news.”
