Mourinho refuses to speak to media after Roma defeat

Jose Mourinho refused to speak to the media after Roma fell to a 2-1 defeat against 10-man Milan, as the dismal start to the season continues.

He had been expected to attend to his media duties, as this was his first match of the season, having been suspended for the opening rounds.

The Special One had also talked to DAZN before kick-off, so there were no signs of problems, but perhaps a clue is in the extended sarcastic round of applause that Mou aimed at the referee after the penalty decision.

It has been a disastrous campaign so far for the Giallorossi, who have just one point from three rounds and are already eight points adrift of the leaders.

This match began on the wrong foot too, as Rui Patricio caught Ruben Loftus-Cheek for an Olivier Giroud penalty and Houssem Aouar went off with a muscular injury, for a side that was already missing Paulo Dybala, Sardar Azmoun, Renato Sanches, Tammy Abraham and Marash Kumbulla.

Rafael Leao scored an acrobatic second with his back to goal, but there was a way back in when Fikayo Tomori saw red for two bookable offences on Andrea Belotti.

Romelu Lukaku made his Roma debut for the final 20 minutes and Leonardo Spinazzola’s deflected strike made the final score 2-1.
