My desire is to play for Chelsea

Danish-Nigerian left back Patrick Dorgu has expressed his intention to play for six-time English champions Chelsea.

The talented defender has been one of the best young talents in the Serie A this season, starring as a fullback for Lecce.

While he hasn’t been a regular name in the starting lineup, he has demonstrated his outstanding qualities whenever called upon by the Yellow and Red manager Roberto D’Aversa and his successors Luca Gotti.

He scored a dramatic winner for the Italian side in a Serie A clash against Fiorentina to open his senior account and add to his list of admirers.

Dorgu was linked with moves to Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham in the January transfer window but Lecce were reluctant to sell him.

Aware of interest elsewhere, the Denmark youth international has come out to express his admiration for Chelsea and would love to play for the club.

“I don’t spend that much time on it. There are always rumours and my agent has been approached, but right now I am under contract in Lecce and then we’ll see what happens,” he told Flashscore via Teamtalk

“I have been a Chelsea fan for many years, so of course it’s clear that it is a dream. That’s not to say I can’t switch to other teams in the Premier League, but even if things aren’t going so well for them right now, they’re my team.”

The Blues have Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella as options at left-back at the moment and the club reportedly want to sell the latter which could pave the way for Dorgu.

The 19-year-old has made 26 appearances across all competitions in the current campaign and has two goal involvements.
