My love for Enyimba still intact declares Dele Aiyenugba

Close to two decades after he featured and won laurels with Enyimba, Kwara United safe hand Dele Aiyenugba has re-echoed his love for the Peoples Elephant.

He made the revelation as a fallout from their midweek match which saw the two time Champions league winners lose by a lone goal.

In what could pass for showing appreciation for good old times, Aiyenugba recalled “It was at Enyimba that I began to make my name so the club still has a place in my heart. I remember everything I won with them,” he enthused.

Aiyenugba who returned to pitch tent with Afonja Warriors after  13 seasons in Israel with four teams savoured victory when teammate Steven grabbed the only goal against visiting Enyimba to hand the Ilorin side three points.

Aiyenugba was with Enyimba when the club made history winning the CAF Champions league back to back 2003 and 2004.

Close followers of proceedings then recall with nostalgia that Aiyenugba and former Super Eagles number one goalie Vincent Enyeama blended so well while plying their trades with the Aba side. Most fans also remember how on some occasions Aiyenugba had been drafted in just before a match goes into penalty shootout because of his ability to make breath-taking saves.
