Ndidi, Etebo, Iwobi partnership: Rohr to comb Europe for back up players
Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has told SportingLife.ng exclusively that he plans to recruit quality back up players for his dependable midfield stars Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo and Alex Iwobi to ensure adequate replacement for the trio whenever they are not available for the team.
Rohr explained that the trio at a point in the last Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations were so strong and dependable that he was not able to replace them at least to give some minutes of respite.
The Eagles gaffer disclosed that the 2019 AFCON has afforded him to think of getting more quality players that can deputize well in the absence of the three midfield players while also searching for more star players to beef up the rest of the positions in the team.
“Ndidi, Etebo and Iwobi are very good to cover up and play well in the position of retired Captain John Mikel Obi but the problem is that we still need to find quality back ups for these three mentioned players at the same level. We have to see what they are doing in their clubs now.

“We need to travel to see how the players are doing through our scouting team. These action is very necessary going forward and we must do everything humanly possible to continue to improve the team in all its departments”, Rohr told SportingLife.ng.
