New Eagles call-up Torunarigha vows to prove critics wrong

New Super Eagles star Jordan Torunarigha has said he hopes to get some playing time against Sao Tome and Principe Sunday to prove critics wrong that he dumped Nigeria.

The 26-year-old Gent defender was born in Germany and has even played for that country’s U20 team, but he has now pledged his international allegiance to his father’s country.

“I hope to get some playing time and show the fans who criticised me that I denied Nigeria,” said the son of former Shooting Stars ace Ojokojo Torunarigha

“I’m a hungry, young player who is here to help the team and give everything to the country and make Nigerians proud.”

He told NFF TV that captain William Ekong and direct rival Jamilu Collins have helped him to settle into the Super Eagles.
