Newcastle United owner, Mike Ashley, has put his weight behind manager Steve Bruce, saying he is their coach for now.
The Magpies have slipped to fourth-bottom, just six points above Fulham, with fourteen games remaining in the season.
Bruce is under increasing pressure to keep his job.
But the Newcastle Chronicle is reporting that the Geordie coach still has the backing of owner Mike Ashley.
Ashley is hoping Bruce will benefit from the addition of Graeme Jones to his backroom staff.
However, should Toon drop into the bottom three and seriously risk relegation, Bruce’s situation will be assessed accordingly.
