Neymar handed three-game ban for hitting fan

Neymar has been slammed with a three-match ban for hitting a fan after Paris Saint-Germain’s shock defeat to Rennes in the French Cup finals.

PSG blew a two-goal lead, with the Brazilian scoring the second, as Rennes won 6-5 on penalties last month.

Neymar let his temper get the better of him by lashing out at a supporter who was filming him when he went to collect his medal after the match.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel condemned his star man’s actions at the time.

He said: “I did not like it, I did not like it at all. It is not possible to do this sort of thing.

“Defeat is not easy to accept, but you must show respect. You cannot do that.

“What I will say is that there are some players who love to win, and others who hate to lose.”

Neymar admitted he had behaved ‘badly’ after footage of the incident was shared on social media.

Prior to his domestic suspension, Neymar was handed a three-game ban in the Champions League for his explicit Instagram rant about officials following PSG’s round of 16 loss to Manchester United.

The 27-year-old took issue with an injury-time penalty awarded to United for a handball, which Marcus Rashford coolly converted to knock the French side out.
