Neymar reveals contract update amid Messi rumours

With Lionel Messi having reportedly been offered a contract and the No. 10 jersey by Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar has now revealed the latest on his own future.

The Selecao international’s current deal in France expires next year, but it appears he is willing to commit himself to the club for the foreseeable future.

Reports on Tuesday suggested that Neymar’s former FC Barcelona colleague Messi has been offered a contract by the Ligue 1 giants, as well as the 29-year-old’s No. 10 jersey, and, with the Brazilian having previously admitted to being desperate to reunite with the Argentine, perhaps he is willing to give up his shirt number at PSG.

In a recent interview, though, the former Barcelona forward was asked to provide an update on his own future, and he responded by saying that negotiations with the club are almost over.

“We are in talks with PSG. There is nothing pressing,” Neymar told RMC Sport.

“Everything is nearly sorted. I feel at ease. I feel truly very happy here at PSG.

“Concerning the fans, that is what I can’t wait for the most, for them to be back in the stadium.

“I hope that they support all the players, that they will be there to encourage us.”

Neymar and Les Parisiens will host Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday night.

Since his move to the French giants in 2017, the Brazil superstar has scored 84 goals and assisted a further 50 strikes in 109 matches.
