Nicky Butt finally sells £5.5m Cheshire mansion

Manchester United legend Nicky Butt has finally sold his mammoth Cheshire mansion for £5.5million two years after first putting it on the market.

Butt, who won six Premier League titles and was part of the 1999 Treble-winning team during his glittering spell with United, first listed his six-bedroom pad for £7m.

The former footballer decided to sell his house in April 2019 following his split from wife Shelley Barlow, with whom he has two children.

After offers failed to materialise last summer, Butt  who is now a coach at Manchester United  slashed the asking price to £5.5m.

A sales brochure described their home as a “stunning, detached family residence” with two main reception rooms, leisure suite, swimming pool, six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Indeed, there are six bedrooms, four of which have en-suites, and also a large family bathroom.

The house also has a huge private pool, separate gym and changing facilities, while the garden is complete with patio for al-fresco dining and a children’s play area.

The triple garage is fitted out for three cars, with the detached residence set in almost an acre of private gardens.

The Butt family forked out £4.4million for the home in 2007, when he was playing for Premier League side Newcastle.
