Nigeria ahead of Ghana in latest FIFA Ranking

Nigeria’s Super Eagles dropped two places in the latest FIFA ranking, but the three-time African champions are still far ahead of their West African rivals Ghana.

The Super Eagles were ranked 28th in the world in the February ranking but dropped to 30th in the ranking released on April 4, 2024, following the team’s mixed results in last month’s international break.

Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 in Finidi George’s first game as interim manager before losing 2-0 to the Eagles of Mali a few days later.

As a result of their mixed performance, the Super Eagles dropped two places to 30th in the world ranking.

Nonetheless, the three-time African champions are still far ahead of Ghana, who dropped one spot to 68th in the world.

Meanwhile, world champions Argentina remain the number one ranked nation, followed by France, Belgium, England and Brazil.

Portugal, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Croatia round up the rest of the global top ten. The next FIFA ranking update will be released after June’s international break.
