NIGERIA/ BENIN REPUBLIC November 13 Clash:  Eagles, Squirrels tango under floodlights at 7 pm

Before now, November 11 and 15 were speculated dates for the match but a source within the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) told Sportinglife.ng that CAF arrived on November 13 after considering time allocated for television coverage of other qualifiers during the international break.

“As far as the qualifiers are concerned, the NFF does not have the powers to fix the dates and kick-off of matches and that’s the reason several dates were being speculated until November 13 was eventually confirmed.”

Sportinglife.ng also gathered the encounter to be held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba would be played under floodlight with the kick-off fixed for 7 pm.

“That the game will start at 7 pm means that we can’t play in a stadium without proper floodlight and that’s one of the reasons Asaba was considered since international matches have been held at that venue in the past” the source added.
