No, I can never give up or walk away – Newcastle boss

Newcastle boss, Steve Bruce, has promised never to relent in his effort to lead his club out of turbulent waters.

Newcastle got the best of their away outing when they subdued Everton 2-0 in front of their teeming fans on Saturday.

Bruce said he’ll never walk away from the job.

The Magpies are currently on an 11-game winless run in all competitions dating back to a home win against West Brom on December 12.

“First and foremost of course I am a fan and I always want what’s best for the club. And I’m determined to tell the supporters that we’ll get out of this bad run we’re having,” he told BT Sport, in the build-up to Saturday lunchtime’s clash at Everton.

“It’s not easy, it’s never going to be easy and it’s never going to be easy for any Newcastle manager because of the great expectation the club has and the unique club it is.

“I’ll do my utmost to try and turn it around. I’m never going to walk away from it – never. So I’ll keep grinding away and turn it around.”

Newcastle’s victory ended a run of 11 consecutive games in all competitions without a victory, since beating West Bromwich Albion 2-1 in December.
