After cracking the brace against Iceland on Friday at the Volgograd Arena, Super Eagles winger Ahmed Musa is relishing the prospect of scoring against Argentina in their last Group D preliminary match to be played on Tuesday in Saint Petersburg.

Musa’s sensational strikes fetched him the Man of the Match Award as he also made the record as Nigeria’s top scorer so far at the FIFA World after taking his tally to four in two World cup appearances.

Four years ago, Musa struck twice against Lionel Messi-led Argentina and the 25-year-old is upbeat about an encore when both sides meet again next Tuesday in Saint Petersburg.

“ It’s nice to be the top scorer for Nigeria and nice to know that people think about what I did against Argentina,” said Musa who is idolised here in Russia for his outstanding performance at CSKA Moscow. “ The good thing is that I always score whenever I played against Argentina and when Messi is in the team ; I did it in Brazil and I also scored twice for Leicester when I played against Barcelona and Messi was in the team (1996 UEFA Champions League).

“ I’m taking everything step by step and we know the importance of the last game because we just have to win; so by the grace of God we are going to beat Argentina.”

“ The next game, anything can happen and I would be ready to score against them .”

Speaking further, Musa thanked his teeming fans at the Volgograd Arena :“ It was also a great feeling to score here today against Iceland because I always score here (in Volgograd) anytime I played here.”
