‘No-one can predict Messi’s future’

Lionel Messi’s cousin, Massimo Moratti, has confessed that he would ‘love’ to see the forward leave Barcelona but warned ‘no-one else knows’ his future.

Moratti tried to take Messi to Inter when he was President and is currently leading the calls for him to join the Nerazzurri, and Maxi Biancucchi appeared to endorse the move, even if he ‘couldn’t see’ it happening.

“The truth is that this is something very personal, no-one else knows,” he told FootballNews24.

“Personally, I would love to see him play for another team, as many of his fans would like, to prove to those who claim that Messi is only good for Barcelona that they are wrong. The truth is that genes like his can play well anywhere.

“Honestly, I don’t see him in Italy. Any opinion of mine will arouse suspicion but, like I said before, the decision is his alone.

“My dream, if I have to be honest, is to see him wearing the Newell’s Old Boys shirt.”

Biancucchi was then asked if Paulo Dybala or Lautaro Martinez could take the baton from their esteemed compatriot for Argentina.

“This is a great unknown. Argentina has some great young talents, but there will be no other phenomenon like Leo.

“I really like Dybala and Lautaro is growing exponentially. I hope they play at high levels for a long time.

“Having said that, I believe Messi’s heir isn’t born yet.”
