No retreat, no surrender against Insurance, says Sunshine boss

Head Coach, Sunshine Stars Edith Agoye has shifted his attention to winning their match-day 2 encounter with Bendel Insurance on Monday 5th June at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

On Saturday, Sunshine Stars lost 0-1 to Rivers United in the third match on Match-day 1 of the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League play-off to drop to the bottom of the table while Bendel Insurance maintained their unbeaten run with a 0-0 draw with Lobi Stars.

However, on Monday on Match-day 2, the Akure Gunners will trade tackles with Edo based team and Agoye has shifted focus on picking the maximum three points to lift his team from the bottom of the table.

“We lost painfully (0-1) to the defending champions, Rivers United to be in the bottom of the table but Bendel Insurance will pay for the loss on Monday. All the players know what is at stake that Monday second match against Insurance is a must win.” Agoye stated.

He added, “Like every other team, we are in this competition to win lift the trophy for our fans across the world.

He however blamed their first game loss to Rivers United on wasteful attackers, saying his team would have scored at least one or two goals and at least got a draw.
