None of your new signings can lead, Owen tells Lampard

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been told none of his new signings can be considered leaders.

That is the opinion of Owen Hargreaves, who believes his side lack anyone with authority in the dressing room.

“I just think back to those great Chelsea teams,” Hargreaves told Premier League Productions.

“[Petr] Cech, John Terry, [Claude] Makelele, Frank, [Didier] Drogba. The whole spine of the team was flawless, leaders.

“I would have signed all those players [Chelsea have signed] if I was sporting director, really good young players, but I’m not sure who the leader of the team is.

“[N’Golo] Kante’s a great player but he’s so quiet. [Mateo] Kovacic, I know he’s quite quiet, so all of a sudden who is the leader in the backline?

“I think Frank has built a good group of players here but if he looks at it, where’s his JT? Where’s his Frank? Where’s his Drogba?”
