NPFL officials inspect facilities at Enugu’s Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium

Ahead of the fast approaching 2022/2023 NPFL season, a team of inspectors from the league organizers was in Enugu, Wednesday, to inspect facilities at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium whose pitch renovation is about ninety-five percent complete.

Officials of the league organizers, NPFL, were impressed with what was on the ground at ‘The Cathedral’, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium as they were taken around the facilities by the stadium manager in the presence of Honorable Manfred Nzekwe, Enugu state commissioner for Youth & Sports; Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua, Administrative Secretary, Rangers Management Corporation; and other club officials.

Facilities inspected at the edifice included the electronic scoreboard, floodlights, players’ and officials’ conveniences, dressing rooms, seating arrangements, water, and power supply, V.I.P room, media and television stands, and the medical facilities.

Administrative Secretary of Rangers, Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua, said after the inspection, “With what we have on the ground and the assurances of the contractor fixing the turf, I am confident that we shall prosecute our matches here at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu. We really desire to return home and play before our fans in the coming season.”
