NPFL: Rangers Int’l Sign Plateau United Defender Opara, on free transfer

Seven-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Rangers International have completed the signing of defender Austin Opara, from Plateau United.

The experienced defender, joins the Flying Anteoples on a free transfer, after leaving the Jos based club at the end of last season, due to the expiration of his contract.

Opara will reunite with former Plateau United head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu at the club.

The pair had previously worked together at the defunct Mountain of Fire and Miracle Football Club (MFM FC) in Lagos.

The centre-back spent two years at Plateau United, before leaving the club at the end of last season.

Opara is one of the highly rated defenders in the Nigerian top-flight, and would add more experience to the new Rangers set up, as they continues preparation ahead of new season.
