Nwosu, Elizabeth extend dominance in latest National Ranking

Local champions, Chinazum Nwosu and Elizabeth Anyanacho, have extended their dominance in the latest national rankings.

Nwosu, has extended her national lead to 18, 850 points in the latest released national ranking, after clinching a season-ending gold medal at the Best of the Best Taekwondo Championships to cement a stellar year for the Nigeria Taekwondo superstar.

Her nearest rival, Bayelsa’s Iniobong Ekong, is in a distant second with 3310 point which is almost 6 times less than the African Champ.

In the female -67kg, African Bronze Medalist Elizabeth Anyanacho also demonstrated her growing status as she extended her lead to 15930 points in the national ranking, after also clinching a gold in style at the prestigious Best of the Best Taekwondo Championships.

Her points leave the 20-year-old almost three times ahead of the number two ranked competitor, Edo’s Judith Usifoh who has 5,470 points.

The 6ft 2” tall Federal University of Technology student will be feeling confident ahead of the Olympic year of 2020.

The national ranking was floated in 2017 to help monitor and accurately evaluate athlete performance and development and has been a huge success since its inauguration.
