Oleksandr Usyk shows off incredible body ahead AJ challenge

Oleksandr Usyk has bulked up as he gets set to fight Anthony Joshua for the Brit’s heavyweight titles on Saturday.

Ukraine’s mandatory challenger will attempt to cause an upset and prize away Joshua’s WBA, IBF and WBO belts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 34-year-old had questions raised about his capabilities at the heavyweight division after his last fight with Derek Chisora went 12 rounds.

Chisora started the fight last October brightly but faded as the bout went on, with Usyk taking a unanimous decision victory.

The Ukrainian came off the scales at 217lbs before the victory in 2020 and he has aimed to bulk up even further ahead of the fight with Joshua.

Usyk has been doing a lot of power training ahead of the fight and he has also posted pictures with large plates of food as part of his goal to add some pounds.

He recently showed that he weighed 230lbs and as per his recent training photos his incredible body transformation is complete.

Usyk had completed in the heavyweight division as a youngster but eventually settled as a cruiserweight when he turned professional.

He was undefeated in 16 fights at cruiserweight level becoming the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO champion and beat the likes of Tony Bellew, Michael Hunter, Marco Huck and Krzysztof Głowacki.

After stopping Bellew in November 2018, he opted to turn heavyweight and now holds an unbeaten 18-0 professional record after victories over Chazz Witherspoon and Derek Chisora.

Ahead of the fight, Usyk has insisted that Joshua will be in for a shock if he thinks his title defence will be plain sailing because of his sub-par performance against Chisora.

He told the Sun:  ‘I am very grateful to all those that support me and everything else but they expect too much from athletes.

‘Some of them very much do not understand what is happening in the ring, how difficult it is or, in some cases, how easy it is. People just have an image that they think up.

‘The fact is I boxed Derek for 12 rounds but he is actually a very difficult guy to beat. If you look at his two fights with Tyson Fury then he has gone 22 rounds with him.’
