Olympic Qualifier: Falcons storm Douala for first leg vs Cameroon

Super Falcons have arrived Cameroon ahead of their first leg Olympic Qualifier against Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on Friday.

 Falcons who are in high spirit ahead of the encounter announced their arrival informing “Excited to earlier touch down in Douala! 🇨🇲🛬 for the first leg match against Cameroon! 🦁

The Second leg of the two legged clash will take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja on Monday February 26.

Optimistic Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum had earlier invited 21 players including impressive goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, reigning African Women footballer of the year Asisat Oshoala who recently joined USA club Bay FC from Barcelona and Saudi based defender Ashleigh Plumptre.

While the Super Falcons are slugging it out with their Cameroonian counterparts Friday in Douala, Black Queens of Ghana will be welcoming their Zambia counterparts in Accra same day all things being equal. There were initial reports that the Black Queens were considering a boycott of the match because of bonuses owed to them.

 The bonuses according to local report were recorded in the earlier stage of Olympic qualifier and two matches of the last Africa Women Championship (AWCON).
