Onazi’s undergoes successful operation on ruptured tendon

Nigeria international, Ogenyi Onazi was on Monday operated on, according to Turkey Health Board Chairman, Yasar Kibar Guven who confirmed it was successful.

Onazi who plays for Trabzonspor in Turkey ruptured his Archilles tendon in Sunday’s league game against Rizespor and had to be stretched out before the match ended.

” He had surgery, 24.12.2018 18:16. The Achilles tendon is broken in our player. Ogenyi Onazi today operated in Istanbul,” said Guven.

Guven was at the hospital to see the player to convey his wishes as he commences his journey to recovery.

No time frame was given for Onazi’s return to the pitch.

But there are fears that he maybe on the sidelines for a long time which could affect his chances of making the final cut for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations next June.
