Osho confirms exit from Akwa United, applauds Bassey’s support

Fatai Osho confirmed on Tuesday he has resigned from his position as head coach of Awka United in the Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) on Tuesday.

Osho threw in the towel after the Promise Keepers continued poor run to the 2023/24 NPFL campaign.

At the last count, the Uyo-based club have recorded just three wins from 14 league appearances this season.

Osho took to the social media to applaud the club’s management led by Paul Bassey for their unflinching support during his spell at the club.

“ELDER PAUL BASSEY, Sir, I can’t thank you enough for my time at Akwa United FC. You’re a rare breed that deserves all happiness and success. We gave it our all but it was not to be.This temporary set back will be followed by unimaginable success. I will forever appreciate you,” Osho penned on his X account.

A replacement is expeted to be made public by Akwa United in the coming days ahead of matchday 15 tie with Sunshine Stars on Thursday.
