Osimhen showers departing Coach Gattuso with prayers

 

Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen put aside routine training and shape up associated with his job to turn prayer warrior as Coach Gennaro Gattuso quits the Italian club.

Osimhen who joined Napoli in the summer of last year from French side Lille, struggled initially with injuries and harassing effect of coronavirus but Coach Gattuso who believed so much in him remained optimistic the Nigerian international who did exploits while with Lille with repeat the magic and Napoli.

His strong faith according Osimhen turned out to be the tonic he needed to get back to his feet and do the needful.

Little wonder he spared nothing as he poured out his heart on social media asking the good Lord not only to guide departing Gattuso but to beam light on his path and future endeavors.

Osimhen sent a message to salute the coach on Instagram.

“You have been instrumental towards my development,” Osimhen wrote. “Not just as a player but also as a man.

“I really appreciate all you do for me on and off the pitch, I admired you as a player and to be able to work under you and call you my BOSS is something I will never forget in a rush.

“I hold you on high esteem forever. I wish you all the very best on your new adventure BOSS.”

Although Osimhen and his teammates failed in their bid to earn Champions League spot as curtain fell on the season, the Nigerian however made a huge impact.

The 22-year-old shone like a million stars when the Super Eagles clinch qualification for the next African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroo, scored 10 goals in 24 League games and showed great potential in the just ended Seria A season with Napoli finishing in the 5th place.

Gattuso was the coach that greeted him in Naples, but the former Milan tactician leaves the Azzurri after one and a half years at the helm.
