Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen has been tipped to break Vincent Enyeama’s record in the French Ligue 1 judging from his performance with Lille that he joined in the summer.
The player has captured the hearts of fans with his impressive form which has seen him score seven goals in 10 appearances.
Furthermore the feat earned him the French Ligue 1 player for the month of September with many expecting more from the 20-year-old this season.
This had made followers of the game to reckon that he can surpass Enyeama’s record.
The former Super Eagles keeper remains the only Nigerian to win the award back to back in October and November 2013.
John Utaka was the first to win the award in February 2006 with RC Lens.
Osimhen polled a total of 45% of the votes cast to beat Islam Slimani of Monaco and Nicolas Pallois who both had 37% and 18% votes respectively to the award last Thursday.
He is the third Nigerian to win the award which recognises the significant contributions of players in the month under review.
