Premier League clubs agree to gambling sponsorship ban

Premier League clubs have agreed to a ban of gambling sponsorship for the front of their matchday shirts.

The move will be in place by the end of the 2025-26 season.

However, after the deadline, Prem clubs will still be clear to feature gambling brands on shirt sleeves and LED advertising.

This season, eight top-flight clubs have gambling companies on the front of their shirts, worth an estimated £60m per year.

The announcement follows a consultation between the league, its clubs and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport as part of the government’s ongoing review of current gambling legislation.

The Premier League will become the UK’s first sports league to move to reduce gambling advertising.
