PSG to battle Barcelona for Griezmann

Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly met with Antoine Griezmann’s representatives as they look to battle Barcelona for the signature of the Atletico Madrid striker.

Griezmann confirmed earlier this week that he will leave Atletico at the end of the season, despite signing a new five-year deal with the club just last summer.

Barcelona has been the long-standing favourites to sign the French World Cup winner, although their interest had waned after Griezmann publicly snubbed them by choosing to remain with Atletico last year.

However, the Catalan giants are understood to have forgiven the 28-year-old for that refusal and will make a renewed attempt to bring him to the Camp Nou following his announcement.

L’Equipe reports that they will face stiff opposition from PSG, though, claiming that the Ligue 1 champions met with his representatives last week.
