The families and partners of England’s World Cup footballers will head for a booze cruise in Qatar and swerve the country’s draconian drinking laws.
Sportsmail understands that a number of apartments and studios were offered to the Three Lions’ travelling party but were not deemed to be up to standard.
Instead, the other halves and relatives of the likes of Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling have opted for a luxury liner.
The level of accommodation offered on the water has been deemed much more suitable and comes with the added bonus that those involved will be able to toast victory, or drown their sorrows, after watching Gareth Southgate’s men in action.
Alcohol cannot be consumed in public spaces in Qatar and is only available in the privacy of selected hotels in the majority Muslim and conservative country.

However, a number of cruise ships and yachts will be moored in the port close to Doha, where families can relax and enjoy a drink if they wish.
FIFA got in touch with a number of options ahead of the November-December tournament, but it is thought that the quality on offer was not what was expected.
The main reason for switching to the ship was that the rooms available were considered much more comfortable. However, the ability to unwind with a drink and potentially crack open the celebratory champagne has come as a welcome bonus.
