Qatar 2022: Super Eagles W/Cup qualifier gets new date
Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers involving Nigeria’s Super Eagles and other African teams have been postponed from June to September 2021.

According to a press release by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday, the continent’s football governing body confirmed to shake-up in match schedule after a meeting of the emergency committee.
CAF noted the shift in dates was due to the Coronavirus Pandemic as well as to ensure the qualifiers are played at standard stadiums across the continent.

The qualifiers will now hold in September, October, November 2021 and March 2022 for the final playoffs.
The Eagles are grouped alongside Liberia, Central African Republic and Cape Verde.
Nigeria were expected to host Liberia next month in Lagos to kick-off the group stage of the qualifiers.
