Ramsey sends emotional Aston Villa farewell message

Aaron Ramsey has sent a heartfelt farewell message to Aston Villa after completing his move to Burnley.

The 20-year-old has moved to Turf Moor on a permanent deal, believed to be worth in the region of £14million. The England youth international had been with Villa since the age of seven.

Ramsey won the FA Youth Cup with Villa in 2021 and last season spent time on loan at Norwich City and Middlesbrough in the Championship. He was also part of the England squad that won the European Under-19 Championship last year.

The youngster has signed a five-year contract with Burnley. He is the 11th summer signing made by Burnley boss Vincent Kompany following the Clarets’ promotion back to the top flight.

Ramsey told Burnley’s official website: “I’m absolutely buzzing. I have been waiting to be a Burnley player for a while now and I’m really happy it’s all officially done now. I can’t wait to get started.

“I can’t wipe my smile off my face. When you come to a new club you want the lads to welcome you in and everyone here has done that straight away. It’s been really easy to settle, everyone has been amazing.”

Ramsey also took to social media to deliver a special parting message to Villa. He posted: “Thank you, Villa! My boyhood club and the place I’ve called home since I was seven.

“I wanted to come on here to say a massive thank you to everyone at the club, from the staff, to the players that have played a part in my career.
