Enugu Rangers v ASCK
Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Vitus Okechi has charged Rangers to go for victory

The youthful commissioner gave this charge Wednesday, inside the mainbowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, after Rangers’ first training since returning from Lome where it narrowly lost the first leg by a 2-1score line.

Okechi, who was in the stands of Stade de Kegue, Lome over the weekend, said that the team he saw lose in Lome did enough to earn adraw in the match but for the last-minute loss of concentration that gifted Yendoutie Richard Nane with the opportunity to drill in the winning goal.

“This weekend’ match is a must-win. Enugu state government is solidly behind your quest to emerge champions in all the competitions you will be challenging for. I know you have what it takes to become champions. You displayed some of it in Lome and I urge you to dig deep and come up with the winning formula. The team we lost to in Lome can’t stop us from progressing in the competition,” Okechi said.

Recall that the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International lost the first leg of the playoff round 2-1 to A.S.C.K of Togo and must win with at least a lone goal to pick one of the sixteen group stage tickets for the second-tier continental club competition.
