Rangers intensify training for Plateau United, Kano Pillars

As 2023/2024 NPFL approaches the end point and the re-christened President Federation Cup 2024, round of 64 fixtures draws close, the coaching crew of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International F.C ably led by coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has intensified its training sessions for the weekend’ NPFL encounters against Plateau United and the mid-week President cup round of 64 ties against Kano Pillars in Abuja.

Coach Ilechukwu, who has repeatedly echoed into the ears of the club’s numerous followers, supporters, and experts in the league that his team still has a lot of work to do to be ranked amongst teams for the league title, stated that he and his lieutenants needed to up the ante in the run-in to the climax of the season.

He described the two fixtures against Plateau United and Kano Pillars needed to be given the utmost attention it deserve to ensure the club comes up with an appreciable result to keep the club in the hunt for a good finish to the season.

“I don’t want to put myself or the players under undue pressure but we shall do all we can with our young squad to end the season in an appreciable position. Against Plateau United and Kano Pillars, we are stepping up the gear to come up with a good result to ensure we keep hope alive in both competitions,” said the reigning LBA coach of the month.

He further stated, “Against my former club, Plateau United, who is now handled by the former coach of Rangers, coach Mbwas Mangut, I believe that we at Rangers understand what is at stake in this encounter and the players are positively going into the fixture and we are not leaving anything to chance. We are taking each game at a time and we are positive. For the game against Kano Pillars in the President Federation Cup, that will be handled after the weekend’s fixture and we are always positive going into every match.”

In the weekend’s NPFL match day 32 fixture, slated for Sunday, April 28, 2024, Rangers will be looking to earn a vital win over the ‘Tin City’ side who edged the ‘Coal City side to a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture at the New Jos Stadium in December of 2023.
