Rangers U-17 intensify training ahead national play-off

Champions of the South-East zone of the inaugural NPFL U-17 Youth League, Rangers International F.C U-17 team are intensifying their training sessions ahead of the national playoff slated for the Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia Stadium in the ancient city of Benin slated to begin February 24, 2024.

Under the watch of eagle-eyed tactician, coach Basil Obeta who is assisted by the likes of Ejike Uzoenyi (MON), Okey Odita, and a host of others, the boys train twice daily since they emerged champions of the zone where they won two matches and drew one, scoring four goals and conceding none.

In an exclusive chat, coach Obeta said, “The boys are reacting well in training and management is fully supporting our training programs and giving us all we need to be fully prepared for the national playoff. We know it won’t be easy but with the quality we have in the team, I am positive of getting something good in Benin at the national playoff.”

Also speaking, zonal Most Valuable Player and captain of the Enugu side, Igwilo Chimobi, who has four goals to his name in the youth league, said, “We have been working very hard to ensure that we represent our state very well in the national playoff in Benin. I expect a tough championship, but by God’s grace we shall celebrate at the end of the competition.”

The team will likely hit Benin on February 23, 2024, for their opening match against Katsina United on February 26, 2024, in an early kickoff inside S.O.O Stadium, Benin City.
