Real Madrid shot-stopper tests positive for COVID-19

Real Madrid’s backup goalkeeper for the 2020/21 season, Andriy Lunin, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The goalkeeper was tested along with his international teammates when he joined up with the Ukraine national team and he has tested positive.

He was set to face Spain in the Nations League during this international break, but must now quarantine at the Hyatt Regency Chantilly Hotel in France, where Ukraine were preparing to face the world champions.

Fellow goalkeeper Yuriy Pankiv and the national team’s chef have also returned positive results.
