Rodgers fumes over penalty decision in Everton loss

Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, was furious about a penalty decision that went against his side.

The Foxes looked as though they had won a spot-kick late in the game after a foul by Andre Gomes on Ayoze Perez in the box.

However, the referee overturned his decision after reviewing video footage.’

Asked about the incident post-game, Rodgers said: “I only assumed that’s what it was. I haven’t spoken to him (referee Lee Mason).

“Down on the side you could hear the contact. He’s looked at it again and the images he’s looking at, it isn’t the one that shows Ayo got the touch and he got clipped on the foot.

“We’re disappointed to get that overturned because that would have set us up for the 10 minutes and given us momentum for the final period of the game.”
