Rohr arrives Nigeria next week for AFCON camping

Super Eagles’ head coach Gernot Rohr is expected to arrive in Nigeria next week in preparation for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

SportingLife.ng understands that the Franco-German is making frantic efforts in ensuring that the Eagles have the best of preparations for the tournament.

Rohr released a 25-man provisional squad last week which will be pruned to 23 before the team departs for Egypt on June 8.

The Eagles camp will open in Asaba on June 2 where they would play a friendly before jetting out to Egypt to play another friendly against Senegal.

The team’s media officer, Toyin Ibitoye revealed to SportingLife.ng that the players are in the right frame of mind for the championship.

“Hopefully, the coach will come back next week for AFCON preparation and I can tell you that everything is going on according to plans,” Ibitoye said to SportingLife.ng.

“Players are already arriving in the country one after the other and they are ready and determined to excel in the competition. We are hoping for a good outing in Egypt.”
