Rohr inspects Asaba Stadium ahead Seychelles game

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is in Asaba to inspect the Stephen Keshi Stadium before Nigeria tackles Seychelles in the return leg of thet Africa Cup of Nations qualifier later in the year.

Rohr arrived Asaba today to also watch the final of the Men’s version of the Aiteo Cup between Kano Pillars and Rangers FC of Enugu with special focus on Junior Lokosa who missed out on going to the FIFA World Cup.

President of The Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick told Journalists that the Eagles coach needs to know if the Stadium which was completed this year will be fit to host national team matches.

“He is the coach of the team and by virtue of his position needs to inspect where the team would play. That is why he is here apart from attending the final,” said Pinnick.

Nigeria sit on top of Group E with nine points and face South Africa in their next game away on November 17 before welcoming weeping boys Seychelles.

The Eagles have been playing their matches at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
