Ronaldo’s eleventh hour strike saves Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo saved Man United deep into stoppage time as his late goal saw the hosts pick up all three points against Villarreal.

The Spanish outfit were the better side in the first half and they should have been in front. They did take the lead in the 53rd minute, though.

Paco Alcacer got the goal as he converted a cross from former Bournemouth attacker Arnaut Danjuma.

Man United hit back seven minutes later as Alex Telles equalised. The left-back found the net via a superb volley from the edge of the penalty area.

Ronaldo had the final say on Wednesday night as his effort nestled into the bottom corner to earn United the victory.
