Salah Catches Big Fish after Champions League Glory

MOHAMED SALAH spent the season catching out goalkeepers – but now he is catching fish.

The Liverpool forward, 26, is enjoying some well-earned rest after lifting the Champions League trophy at the beginning of the month.

And with Egypt hosting the African Cup of Nations, which kicks off in ten days, Salah is making the most of his short break.

He uploaded pictures this week of him relaxing in the sea and on a boat.

But now he has impressed fans by showing off his talents with a rod in hand.

In two separate posts – following Marcos Rojo’s lead – Salah showed his 28.5million Instagram followers a couple of fine catches.

The latest fish-related snaps follow on from when Salah was pictured inside a chippy on Merseyside last February on his way to the golden boot and PFA Player of the Year award.

But it is not just Salah who enjoys a trip out on the water.

This season’s promotion-winning duo John Terry and Lee Bowyer also like to switch off from football with a spot of angling.

And that got the SunSport desk racking our brains to put together our very own Fishy XI.

Between the sticks, we have the very smokey Chelsea stopper Kipper Arrizabalag who will be desperate to get his anglers right.

In front of him we opted for a very attacking back three with a strong Liverpool influence.

Right-back Aaron Wan-bass-aka accompanies Liverpool duo Virgil van Pike and Clam-dy Robertson.

It is in midfield, though, that things get very exciting.

James Cod-riguez was unfortunate to be overlooked.

But no-one could argue with having Crabby Keita and Paul Shoals in the middle.

Prawn Wright-Phillips will hopefully not be too shellfish on the right while Shark Ji-Sung will no doubt terrify the opposition right-back when he gets his Jaws into the game.
